California State Licensed Care
HOME CARE SERVICES CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT
California law established the Home Care Services Consumer Protection Act which, as of January 2016, requires Home Care Organizations to be licensed and creates a public online registry for Home Care Aides who have been background checked. This law is intended to promote consumer protection for elderly and disabled individuals who hire private aides to come into their homes and provide assistance with activities of daily living. Heritage Senior Care was amongst the first to receive this new licensing and adheres by all laws that affect this industry.
Home Care Aide Organization Certification Program
This program allows home care aide organizations, or components of home care organizations which provide home care aide services, to submit evidence that they meet CAHSAH’s Certification Standards for Home Care Aide Organizations. Such requirements are in addition to those that went into effect as a result of the California Home Care Aide Organization licensure statute mandated by the enactment of AB1217 effective January 1, 2016.
Deep Pool of Caregivers
With our full time recruiting program, Heritage has built a large resource pool of caregiver. Dear Friends at Heritage,
I just want to thank you for the beautiful floral bouquet you sent me in remembrance of Carmen. She was a sweetheart to every one who knew her, and my “Mama Cee”. I loved her dearly and will miss our long distance closeness. Since my husband’s health problems, I really was saddened to have to give up my yearly “treks” to my “home away from home”. I’m so grateful to have had Dois and Ronnie in our home. Doies was Carmen’s life force, and she will have a special place in heaven when it’s her turn. Ronnie was truly an understanding stabalizer to work with. Working for the elderly people we love is truly an emotional roller coaster, and certainly not an easy job in any …
As you know, Marcia passed away late Easter Sunday evening, April 24th. We would like to thank all of you at Heritage Senior Care for the excellent service you provided to Marcia in our home, in the weeks prior to her death.
In particular, we would like to thank Deborah Goldman, Care Manager, who came to our home immediately after I called her. She talked with Marcia at length and put her at ease about what was to come. I believe we had a caregiver the very next day. She even brought over some special boots for Marcia. We so appreciate her going the extra mile in order to make us all feel comfortable.
You sent us Eileen. Eileen was wonderful! She was always cheerful and industrious. …
Roni, Garilyn, and Katrina,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help and especially for being there. It’s rare to work with a company like Heritage, who treat their employees like human beings!
Heritage Senior Care, INC-
Retired Teachers wish to thank you for again buying two adds in our directory. All the money raised for ads goes directly back to the classroom teachers in North County by way of $200 grants. Thank you so very much!
To all the Staff at Heritage Senior Care,
For the past three years you have cared for my mother, Hazel Y, until her death last month. I thought I had lost an angel when Vickie B left as her caregiver, but through good placements, you found us another angel,
I would like to express gratitude and appreciation for Debbie E, who stayed with my mother until the end, as she promised my mother that she would. And she was kind and loving the whole time with my mother.
Also, Anne F was thrown into a maelstrom having to make the decision to have my mother go to the hospital, and stayed with her the whole time in the emergency room, something other caregivers we had prior to Heritage would never do. She was kind in talking to me and informing me of as much as she knew of what was going on. Finally, I had to call Brittany several times on weekends and she was very helpful and informative as to what Heritage would do. I had to call her several times a…
Thank you very much. You are all very caring and kind!
Thank you for your wonderful home care for our Aunt Christine. It was comforting for us to know that we could count on your caregivers and your services since we live so far away. We know our aunt was not always so easy to deal with but your understand and professionalism was much appreciated. Our aunt really really cared for Evelyn and I was told by Hospice that she would smile when she would see Evelyn.
Thank you again!
We have so much to thank all of you for. The flowers were awesome. The flowers however can’t compare to the loving care mom had. Judy was such a godsend, and of course thanks to Stacy for coming to the service and being a friend to Pam.
Dear Care Providers, Susie, Gina, Roni
We have wanted to write and thank you for excellent care provided by your company at a very important transition stage in our planning for a move to assisted living.
Miriam brought exactly the best gifts and temperament to her job, and carried us through a difficult process of change and preparation and pack for our move. Gina’s supervision and Miriam’s unfailing and ready helpfulness were super and just what was needed at the time.
We are indebted to Heritage Senior Care and would not hesitate to recommend you to others who have similar needs!
To Everyone at Heritage-
We want to thank you for your kindness and caring over the years for our mother Nola. You certainly made a huge difference in her life. Wishing all the staff at Heritage a happy, healthy new year! The special flower arrangement was very much appreciated!
I will be forever thankful that Sonya was in my mother’s and my life when we needed her most. Sonya has a warm, compassionate and loving heart that everyone who visited my mom noticed and appreciated. She engaged mom and distracted her from her delusions, and I knew that she really cared for her, and not just because she was paid to be there. I truly think this is Sonya’s calling and the gifts she gives to those who need her in their lives.
I just wanted everyone to know that you ALL were wonderful to work with!
You are so generous with your time and knowledge. Thank you SO much for all your help in filing the claim on my mother’s Long Term Care policy.

I am a professional Senior Care Manager with a Critical Care Repiratory Therapy background including pediatrics, neonatology, and geriatrics. I owned a private care giving service for apporximately ten years. I know the home care industry as I have worked in the field for twenty or more years.
I presently contract with ASSIST Senior Care Management and have been working with them for nine years this past February as a full time care manager. As a senior care manager, I am constantly looking forwell managed, care giving agencies for my clients. Through all of these years, I have found two agencies that provide the level of quality care giving services for my clients co…
I wanted to thank your company for the most excellent care anyone could ever receive. You assigned us Elisa M. I have NEVER met anyone with as much love and dedication. She went up and above the call of duty in taking care of my father! She did his laundry, she sang him to sleep, she could rid him of all his fears when he was delusional. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was well received by the staff at White Sands – La Jolla as well. Her capacity for love and kindness are limitless. She treated my father with the utmost kindness, dignity, respect and love…
Thank you for sending us such an angel. Dad never would have lived this long without her. I wouldn’t have the peace that I…
Dear Susie Gina and Roni,
Thank you so much for everything! I wouldn’t have gotten through the last two years without this fine service. All the caregivers were very nice to work with, I appreciate all your responsiveness to my many changes, too! I’d recommend Heritage any time!
Thank you all for everything you do for seniors, you’re angels!
Thank you for the picture card. It is nice to put faces to the voices on the phone. My primary caregiver is excellent! She decorated my tree and house for me this Christmas. She wanted me to “feel the spirit”. We shared a nice Christmas dinner. It was nice to share a meal with someone. Thank you for the homely gift and all the help you all give me throughout the year.
Thank you for all your help and guidance with my dad. I wish I had hired you a year ago, you know the answers to all my questions and were always there. Ashley and Rosa were amazing caregivers, they adapted quickly to my dad’s decline and made his last days comfortable. It was wonderful to know he was with such caring individuals. Many thanks again!
I appreciate the outstanding care my father received from Heritage Senior Care from early 2007 to October 2009. The caregivers were amazing and very devoted, and it showed their hearts were into caring for my father. They contributed to my father’s quality of life during this heart wrenching time period.
After going through a couple bad experiences from other agencies, I was referred to Heritage Senior Care through Southern Caregiver Resource Center, and am grateful I found you. All of you are the best… Roni, Katrina, Susie, and Stacy all worked together to make things happen and were always polite and empathetic during the need of care for my father.
I would highly recommend Her…

Super Food Super Guide for Super Seniors!
by Felicity Dryer (Excerpt)
Creating and sticking to a diet is a lot like creating and sticking to a budget: the ultimate goal is for a healthier lifestyle, and one that’s far more beneficial. But the desire for instant gratification always rears its ugly head, causing us to make choices that we later regret.
We all aspire to help the seniors in our lives live as healthy as possible, but helping them create a diet that they will stick with is far more difficult than sticking with a diet ourselves…. More..

Are certain lifestyle habits associated with lower Alzheimer’s disease risk?
Arthor: Arab L1, Sabbagh MN.
As the number of patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is expected to grow, finding ways to prevent and lower the risk of AD becomes a crucial matter. Risk factors for developing AD have been identified including health conditions, dietary habits, genetics and heredity, gender, education, age, and lifestyle. Interventions targeted at some of these risk factors may offer opportunities for development of an optimal preventive strategy. Lifestyle habits which include dietary habits and physical activities appear to have positive effect on modifying many risk factors. Studies have shown controversial results when it comes to the relation between the adherence to a Mediterranean diet and /or physical activity and the incidence of AD. Many population-based studies reported the positive association between antioxidants intake (like vitamin E and C), and polyunsaturated fatty acids whether it is from the diet or supplements on the cognitive performance. Future investigations should aim to determine objectively whether lifestyle modification through diet, exercise, or vitamins/supplements….
