From Heritage Senior Care:

Heritage Senior Care, Inc. recently received its California Home Care Organization license.

Headquartered in Carlsbad, Heritage Senior Care, is one of the first home care agencies in Southern California to receive the new license. The license is part of the new Home Care Services Consumer Protection Act that began in January of 2016. It promotes consumer protection for the elderly and disabled who hire non-medical home care aides to come into their homes and provide assistance.

This law is mandatory for home care agencies like Heritage Senior Care. It is not mandatory for individual home care aides. However, individual home care aides can voluntarily submit an online application to be included in the registry. Also, it is not mandatory for businesses that do not directly employ their workers, such as staffing agencies, domestic referral agencies and in home support services.

“I’m happy to see the new law come to fruition. I went to Sacramento and took part in the legislative process to pass AB1217,” said Heritage Senior Care owner Roni Mayben, “I was also an active participant in the webinars the California Department of Social Services and Home Care Services Bureau, provided on the development of the licensing criteria and provided the bureau with feedback on the criteria.”

Established in 1983, Heritage Senior Care was started by Mayben’s mother as a way to care for her relatives. Heritage Senior Care also has offices in Palm Springs, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, Riverside, Temecula and Victorville.
